New Ales

New Ales from 30/05/2012

As from Wednesday, we will be stocking a comprehensive range of Ales from the Vale Brewery, based in Buckinghamshire. Nice addition to our ever growing selection of Ales from small brewery as, like the wines, I have decided to mainly stock Ales from small breweries rather than national or international venture, happily leaving volume and blandness (to stay polite) to our loved supermarkets and to fully support the smaller ventures.
- Wychert
- Vale Pale Ale V.P.A.
- Edgars Golden
- Black Beauty Porter
The Gravitas will follow soon after.

New opening hours

Selling niche and, well, good wines seems more and more difficult from a shop so we decided to only open our Bourne End premises on a part-time basis. And yes, we are still strongly refusing to even considering putting on our shelves mass produced plonk to cater for what it seems to prevail : quantity rather than quality.

We are more than happy to welcome you Tuesdays to Fridays 1630 to 2100 and Saturdays 1400 to 2030.

We are closed all public holidays

Outside opening hours, I can be contacted either by email at sales@caveavins.org or by phone on 01628 525202.

Tesco is coming to Bourne End

Well, finally, after many years of battle, Tesco will come to Bourne End. Well, for me, nothing much will change and I strongly believe nothing will change for the local butcher and local greengrocer. We will probably loose one or maybe two Coop stores but, at the end, I have no interests in saving them either.
I, for sure, will continue to offer my great French smelly cheeses, my excellent wines from the Bugey, Savoie, Cahors, Madiran etc to a few local customers and national customers while the majority will be queuing in Tesco Express to buy the latest plonk offer of the month.
At least, not like the shops on the main street, my car park won't be used by their customers.
